Unzip the downloaded file.
For Windows and Mac OS:
Unzip the zip file to find the file named [DDJ-SR_Vxxx.jar] within it.
Connect the DDJ-SR to your computer using a USB cable, ensuring that the power cable and USB cable are securely connected to the DDJ-SR. Power your laptop with an AC adaptor rather than battery power.
** VERY IMPORTANT STEP**
Activate the update mode for the DDJ-SR.
Press the power button while pressing the [SHIFT] button and the [SYNC] buttons on the left deck.
Once the update mode is activated, the level meter flashes.
Double click [DDJ-SR_Vxxx.jar] to launch the update file. A dialog box will appear showing the currently installed firmware version and the update version. If the update is newer, click [Start] to begin installation. If the currently installed version is already the newest firmware version, the update file will not launch. Close the dialog box and exit installation.
When the firmware update process is complete and the message appears, click [OK].
Turn off the power of DDJ-SR and then turn it on again.
Note:
Your computer should have a current version of Java installed.
For a PC, you should also have the latest Asio driver installed.
For a MAC, you do not need to have a driver installed. It will be supported as a Plug and Play device.
